Assessments & Tools

Leadership growth begins with awareness.

The most effective leaders understand both how they see themselves and how others experience them. They recognize their strengths, understand their blind spots, and continually look for opportunities to improve their impact.

I use a variety of assessments and feedback tools to help clients gain deeper insight into how they think, lead, communicate, make decisions, and influence others. These tools are never used as labels. They are used to create awareness, identify opportunities for growth, and accelerate development.

Every engagement is tailored to the individual and their goals. Depending on the situation, I may incorporate 360 feedback, the Enneagram, or other development tools to support the coaching process.

360 Verbal Feedback

One of the most valuable sources of leadership insight is understanding how others experience you.

A 360 feedback process gathers confidential input from colleagues, direct reports, supervisors, and other stakeholders to provide a more complete picture of your leadership impact.

Many leaders are surprised to discover gaps between their intentions and how their actions are perceived by others. These insights can reveal strengths to build on, blind spots to address, and opportunities to become more effective.

360 feedback can help leaders:

  • Understand how they are perceived by others

  • Identify strengths and development opportunities

  • Uncover blind spots

  • Improve communication and influence

  • Strengthen relationships and trust

  • Align intentions with impact

When combined with coaching, 360 feedback often creates powerful opportunities for growth and lasting behavior change.

Leadership Insights Through the Enneagram

The Enneagram is a powerful development tool that helps leaders understand the patterns, motivations, assumptions, and behaviors that shape how they lead, communicate, make decisions, and respond to challenges.

Leaders are often promoted because of their strengths. Yet under pressure, those same strengths can become blind spots.

The Enneagram helps uncover the deeper drivers behind our behavior, allowing us to lead with greater awareness, flexibility, and intention.

Unlike many personality assessments that focus primarily on behavior, the Enneagram explores the underlying motivations and beliefs that drive behavior. It helps explain not only what we do, but why we do it.

How Leaders Benefit

Clients often find that the Enneagram helps them:

  • Increase self-awareness and emotional intelligence

  • Understand their leadership strengths and blind spots

  • Improve communication and influence

  • Navigate conflict more effectively

  • Make better decisions under pressure

  • Build resilience during periods of stress and change

  • Lead with greater confidence and authenticity

  • Strengthen relationships both at work and at home

Many leaders tell me they gain language for patterns they have experienced for years but never fully understood.

Why I Use the iEQ9 Assessment

There are many Enneagram assessments available. I use the iEQ9 (Integrative Enneagram Questionnaire) because it is one of the most comprehensive and rigorously developed Enneagram assessments available today.

The iEQ9 provides insight into communication patterns, stress and growth dynamics, core personality type, leadership strengths and challenges, decision-making tendencies, relationship and team dynamics, and development opportunities.

The assessment has undergone extensive psychometric testing for reliability and validity and has been refined using a large global database of responses. Its adaptive testing methodology is designed to improve typing accuracy and provide a deeper level of insight than many traditional Enneagram assessments.

As an accredited iEQ9 practitioner, I use the assessment as a starting point for meaningful reflection, development, and growth, not as a label or a box.

Beyond Assessments

Assessments do not create change. Awareness, reflection, and action create change.

The purpose of any assessment or feedback process is not to define who you are. It is to help you better understand yourself and your impact so you can make more intentional choices.

When awareness increases, new possibilities emerge.

You gain the ability to leverage your strengths more effectively, recognize blind spots earlier, respond rather than react, and lead in a way that is both impactful and sustainable.

Ultimately, these tools help leaders create greater impact while building success that is uniquely theirs.
